		CNC Turning We are equipped with three (3) Mazak CNC lathes that support our gear production, repair, and general machining needs. These CNC lathes enable us to turn blanks to any custom defined size or shape for high and low volume projects. Our Mazak lathes are capable of processing blanks with outer diameters up to 27.5" and 60" in length. Our barfeeder can turn blanks up to 3.062" outside diameter. These CNC lathes enable us to maintain a tolerance close to 0.0002" during machining. In addition to CNC lathes, our machine shop is equipped with manual lathes capable of handling parts up to 14" outside diameter and 40" in length. All turned parts undergo inspection prior to delivery.




		CNC Milling Our facility is outfitted with a Mazak CNC milling machine for processing a wide range of parts. Typically we perform drilling, tapping, chamfering, facing, milling, and slotting on diverse components. CNC milling equipment enables us to machine gearboxes, large housing, shafts, and plates. With our 3-axis Mazak CNC milling machine, we handle parts with a machining window of X=44" Y=20" Z=24". The multiple tooling capability in the "tool magazine" of our CNC mill facilitates fast tool changes. This, in addition to the high performance tooling that is employed, reduces overall part cost. 		Gear Hobbing We specialize in manufacturing spur, helical, and worm gears through hobbing. Gears can be hobbed with outside diameters of up to 48", a maximum of 18" face width, and 1.5 D.P. We guarantee that our gears are hobbed to AGMA (American Gear Manufacturers Association) Class 8. Higher class gears up to AGMA 10 can be cut upon request. We manufacture all pitches of gears including Diametral Pitch, Module (metric), Circular Pitch, and Transverse Diametral Pitch. Various part shapes can be hobbed in our machines. From simple donut shaped gears to complex shafts with multiple steps can be hobbed. 		Gear Shaping Utilizing Fellows gear shapers, we can cut internal and external spur gears, splines, sprockets, timing gears, and segments. Our gear shapers can cut up to 32" outside diameter, 5" stroke maximum, and 2 D.P. maximum. We have Fellows 6A shapers that have various size risers built into them. The machines have either no risers, 2" risers, or 4" risers. Our Fellows 6Z2 shaper has a 4.5" riser. A special feature of this machine is the 16.5" diameter by 25" deep hole in the work spindle. This allows us to fit longer and larger parts into this working envelope.




		Bevel Gears Blaz-Man Gear manufactures straight bevel gears to AGMA standards up to 12" pitch diameter, 3.5" face maximum, and 2.5 D.P. maximum. We have a Gleason #12 bevel gear generator to cut straight bevel gears. Bevel gears can be cut to fit any mounting distance. Inspection of these gears is done on our Gleason tester.




		Thread Milling We use a Lees-Bradner thread milling machine for milling worms and screw threads. Any thread can be milled up to 14" outside diameter, 32" long maximum, and 2 D.P. maximum. Single start, double start, triple start, and quadruple start threads are typically milled. However, with special index plates we can mill a thread with any number of starts that the customer may want. The machine is capable of cutting right hand threads and left hand threads as well. In certain cases, we can turn a worm or thread on our CNC lathes. With special made holders and tooling, we can replicate the milling process on our turning centers, reducing machine cutting time and part cost.




		Grinding We offer various types of grinding services such as O.D. grinding, I.D. grinding, centerless grinding, surface grinding and honing to achieve ultra fine finishes. Surface finishes, better than 16 microinches, are achieved on our grinding equipment. Parts that require better finishes than 16 microinches are polished to meet customer specifications. Any straight, stepped, or tapered diameter can be ground on our machines.




		Gearbox Services We have all sorts of wrenches, bearing pullers, gear pullers, hydraulic cylinders, and cranes for dismantling and assembling of gearboxes. Some inspection devices that we have include a tachometer for measuring RPM, and infrared and thermocouple thermometers for measuring temperature.




		Other Services Besides basic gear manufacturing, we offer a variety of other services as well. In house, we can mill racks, broach, weld, and assembly work. Milling of gear racks is performed on two different machine at our facility. Smaller pitch racks are produced on our G&E rack milling machine and coarser pitches on our Mazak CNC milling machine. Rack in any pitch, pressure angle, or length can be milled by us. Broaching is performed on parts that typically require a keyway or spline. However, special broaches can be made to broach any special shape that you require. We can broach thru holes, as well as slot or shape blind holes. In special cases, we can EDM shapes into parts.
